Profhilo Frequently Asked Questions

Profhilo's unique concentration of hyaluronic acid helps hydrate and boost the skin but also remodels the ageing skin.

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo is injected into specific key points on the face to improve fine lines and tightness of the skin. It is recommended that 2 treatments are performed at 4 weeks apart for the best results. Although Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid product, it does not increase volume like dermal fillers. It is considered to be a hydrating treatment that spreads throughout the face to improve hydration, firmness and tightness of skin.

Am I suitable for Profhilo?

As we age, there is loss of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin resulting in the signs of skin ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles and deflation of the skin. This typically starts from the age of around 30 but there may be earlier in some patients. Profhilo can be used when these signs of ageing start. There are benefits for older patients as well who require hydration of the skin and tightening.

Is Profhilo the same as dermal fillers?

Profhilo works differently from dermal fillers. It is considered to be a bioremodelling product rather than volumizing product. Fillers are to restore volume to specific areas whilst Profhilo boosts the skin generally. Profhilo can often be used in combination with dermal fillers to improve results.

How long do the results last?

The best results are achieved when 2 treatments are performed 4 weeks apart. You may see the benefits soon after your treatment but the best results are usually seen ab out a month after the second treatment. The improvement in firmness and skin quality usually last up to 6 months although individual results will vary.

What are the side effects of Profhilo treatment?

It is expected that after the treatment you will experience some redness or swelling at the injection sites. The localised swelling at the injection sites may take up to a day to settle. There is the possibility of bruising following treatment. It is rare for more serious side effects such as infection or allergic reactions to occur.

How much does Profhilo cost?

Single treatment - £300
Course of 2 treatments - £550
